The Highway 43 East Waste Commission owns and operates a regional landfill near the Hamlet of Gunn for use by County residents. We also work jointly with the Village of Alberta Beach, the Towns of Mayerthorpe and Onoway, and 12 Summer Villages on a regional cost-shared recycling program.

Landfill Location and Hours of Operation

The Highway 43 East Waste Commission owns and operates the regional landfill within Lac Ste. Anne County. This facility is available for use by residents of Lac Ste. Anne CountyCounty; the Village of Alberta Beach; the Towns of Mayerthorpe and Onoway; and 12 Summer Villages.

Open 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Saturday

The regional landfill is located at 55228 Range Road 35 — just outside the Hamlet of Gunn south of Highway 43.

Closed on Stat Holidays

Unsure whether the landfill operates on a particular statutory holiday? Chances are we're closed...but you can call ahead to check.

Can't make it to the landfill?

Visit one of the County-managed transfer stations instead.

In addition to the Regional Landfill, you'll find eight transfer stations throughout the Lac Ste. Anne region. These facilities are owned and operated by Lac Ste. Anne County. When dropping off residential waste at one of the County-manages transfer stations, please be ready to show photo identification, plus your valid transfer station card.
